Consultation & Technical Assistance

HiTOPS is a recognized expert in clinical and educational approaches to promoting adolescent health. As such, we provide consultation and technical assistance to other health care providers, community-based organizations, public and private schools, and public health organizations in strategies for addressing adolescent reproductive health education and clinical care.

Some examples of our work include:

Providing training, consultation, and technical assistance to schools and other community-based organizations wishing to implement peer health education programs.

Creating uniquely tailored professional workshops in adolescent development and sex education to public health staff working with adolescent populations.

Assisting other clinical care providers in ensuring that their services are "teen friendly" and accessible to an adolescent population.

Consulting to the administrative staff of facilities caring for incarcerated youth to ensure adequate training in sexuality education for the staff.

Working with educators, schools, and/or students wishing to address issues of equity and inclusion in their school for gay and lesbian students, including consultation and training in how to start or nurture a Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA).
