Dear friends,
As a valued member of our HiTOPS community, I want you to be among the first to hear our exciting news!
After 33 remarkable years at our Princeton location, we have made the strategic decision to sell the property at 21 Wiggins Street. I share this news with respect and nostalgia for our long history in the space, and with confidence and enthusiasm for what is undoubtedly the right decision for our organization and the young people and communities we serve.
Over the last several years, HiTOPS has strengthened our infrastructure and fiscal health, expanded our programs and our reach, and given considered thought to our future and impact. We stand strong in our shared vision of building a sustainable, healthy, and impactful organization. After many months of reflection and deliberation, we have concluded that it is in the very best interest of our youth to take the capital in 21 Wiggins and invest it directly into programming; the proceeds realized from the sale will enable us to expand the breadth and depth of our services for many years to come!
We will remain at the Wiggins Street location until the end of the year. We are taking the next few months to consider our options for our next address, with a strategic and youth-forward lens as always. I will be back in touch as soon as our plans are finalized.
I want to thank you for your support of our mission and valued partnership. Should you wish to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach me at lshelby@hitops.org or 610-203-4761. I would love to hear your thoughts.
There is so much opportunity in front of us; we are truly excited for the ways in which we will better serve our communities and create an affirming world for all our youth.
I look forward to working with you in the months and years ahead.
Warmly,
Lisa Shelby, MPH
