We have much to celebrate as 2019 comes to a close. It is your generosity that has enabled HiTOPS to reach more than 10,000 individuals throughout New Jersey:
- Our 15 peer educators provided sex education for upwards of 325 teens.
- Sex education workshops facilitated in schools and youth-serving organizations reached more than 2,200 middle and high school-aged youth.
- LGBTQ+ support groups, and our intergenerational mentoring program provided affirming spaces and essential information for over 400 youth and parents.
- The 5th Annual Trans Youth Forum, the only event of its kind in New Jersey, hosted 150 young people, their families, and allies.
- Professional development was conducted for 400 teachers, nurses, counselors, and administrators, who in turn work with upwards of 4,000 youth.
- Staff engaged with over 2,300 young people at community events.
- We launched our peer education program in Trenton, the Faith Initiative, and support groups for parents of non-binary children, and for youth aged 11-13.
- We were awarded a prestigious Bunbury Fund grant, bolstering our efforts to build a healthy, relevant, and sustainable organization.
